According to LinkedIn’s official blog, 80% of recruiters say the best channel to recruit quality candidates is employee referrals. Yet only 18% of recruiters are satisfied with the level of employee engagement their referral program receives. Traditional referral programs rely exclusively on employees, which often fails to be effective. Employees are likely – and rightly so – to get discouraged by a time-consuming endeavor and obscure software. Based on these observations, LinkedIn introduced last week their brand new referral product.

Indeed expands global brand campaign

Over a year ago, on September 22, 2014, the world’s #1 job site Indeed launched a global advertising campaign called ‘How the World Works’. According to the company, the 2014 launch resulted in an increase of brand awareness by at least 50% in the countries involved – Australia, Germany, United Kingdom and United States. With such strong results, Indeed announced on October 5, 2015 the expansion of the brand campaign to Canada, France, Japan and the Netherlands with 3 additional videos.

CareerBuilder helps high schoolers find their calling

Designed for students and their parents, Find Your Calling, CareerBuilder’s latest website helps discover ideal career and education options based on interests and personalities. Announced on October 1, 2015, the website provides content for a more informed yet critical decision high schoolers often have to make.

To job hop or not to job hop?

Results from Beyond’s recent national survey say 71% of HR professionals are not willing to hire job hoppers. But what is a job hopper anyway? According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average professional switches jobs once every three to four years. So any applicant who has changed employers more than that is likely to be critically viewed as a job hopper by recruiters.

Originally developed for current Uber driver partners to practice their navigation skills, the app turned into a new innovative recruitment and employer brand tool: players can get an idea of what working for Uber is like and interested candidates can start applying directly from the game’s app.
