Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Naukri means “job” and that’s exactly what they aim to offer their users: jobs. Naukri appeared a couple of years after the main company, Info Edge, which was created by Sanjeev Bikhchandani in 1995. Today, the group owns a number of online websites that specialize in employment, matrimony, education and real estate. They have over 791 700 Facebook followers, over 47 thousand on Linkedin and 28 800 on Twitter. Youtube is popular among its users who can visit their recruiter page or their advertisement page. It’s not surprising to learn that Naukri is the leading job board in India with over 60 million registered jobseekers, 38.82 million visits per month and thousands of job offers for everyone. The website comes in 41st on the list of the most active websites in the country.
Design: The homepage is full of information, with a long list of top employers on the left-hand side (which have flashy logos), jobs per category in the middle of the page (with manufacturing, service and information technology jobs as the featured categories) and, on the right-hand side, they also offer courses, job alerts (without even creating an account) and salary information. To use the search engine (keyword, location, experience and/or salary), you need a keyword. Other services are featured at the bottom of the page, including a page on email security and their Fast Forward package. With the help of Ambition Box, Naukri also encourages users to review companies and describe their interview experience. Once you have accessed the job listing, you can use the filters (the salary, industry, education, employer type, job type, location and freshness of the posting) to find the right job for you. As a rule, you don’t have to register to apply to vacancies. In the listing, job offers show the job title, the company, the required experience, the keyskills, the job description, the salary (if it is disclosed), the recruiter and the publication date. Company pages include information about the company, the history of the company, the current job offers, contact information and sometimes even videos.
The job board objective: Naukri has been around for a while now, so their ultimate goal has always been to put candidates in contact with the right companies, and vice versa.
Recruiter observations: To create a company page, you need a PAN card number. We recommend calling the website directly. Clear pricing information is available in the employer zone. As well as company pages, the website offers recruiter pages which means that recruiters can be contacted by candidates, display the vacancies they are hiring for and the ones they have filled in the past.
Jobseeker observations: As a jobseeker, you can highlight your CV with “resume display” or receive job offers by SMS. You don’t need a CV to create an account but for most job offers, you don’t even need an account. You can include your marital status, your gender and the countries where you are allowed to work but nothing is compulsory. Jobseekers can contact recruiters (or follow them) at a cost, which they can also filter (their location, their role, their employer, the function, the level or the industry they’re hiring for) and you can also block companies. If you do chose to create an account, you will be asked to choose between a fresher or professional account depending on your experience.
The job offers: There are thousands of job offers in all of the categories.
Reactivity: They have a chat window and they respond very quickly. However, they insist on talking on the phone and they can even find your contact details even though you haven’t provided a phone number.
Special features: The interview pro; Jobs4U alerts; the “call me back” option; the “are you likely to be conned” quiz; Fast Forward for jobseekers (including the CV highlighter - at a cost); the blog (several categories for the articles); chat support.
Verdict: If you are recruiting in India, it would be madness not to use Naukri. Not only do they respond quickly, they are the leading job board, with clear information and millions of jobseekers.
