Summary: Farmers Weekly Jobs is a job board or those in the agricultural sector. It belongs to Reed Business Information Ltd., much like Flight Global and Property Jobs. Farmers Weekly is actually first and foremost a magazine for farmers. It attracts 544 510 visitors a month to the main site, and about 24 090 visitors just to the job page. On social media, there are 3 453 followers on Twitter (for the jobs, and another 77 400 for the magazine), 34 179 on YouTube, 8 734 on LinkedIn, 38 400 on Instagram and 121 264 on Facebook. The only link on the job page is Twitter because it’s the only account jus for jobs.
Design: As a Madgex job board, the design is very user-friendly. The search engine (keywords, location and radius) is featured at the eyesight level on the homepage. Below, you can browse different agricultural job type or discover the job of the week. The featured companies really are hiring, which is always good news, and there are also featured jobs. In the job listing, the filters (sector, job type, location, salary band, contract type, hours, job title, recruiter type) appear on the left-hand side (and include the number of job offers for each category if you are browsing). An open job offer has a standard layout, with useful information on the left-hand (which includes expiry dates). There is also a company listing, which displays the logo and number of current job offers, but the pages are just lists of offers.
The job board objective: Farmers Weekly is already a successful magazine, which has now utilised the subscriber outreach by including job offers.
Recruiter observations: Prices are online and recruiters can order through the site almost effortlessly. If you would like something catered to your recruitment needs or if you would like to browse the CV database, you must contact the team. To create an account, you must provide a postcode, phone number and address.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account.
The job offers: There are currently 225 job offers online. The most popular sectors are Sales & Marketing, Livestock and Farm Work.
Reactivity: The team answers very quickly.
Special features: The app; the newsletter; the career advice (nothing new since 2018); case studies; job profiles; insights; classifieds (jobs, property, machinery); the YouTube videos.
Verdict: Farmers Weekly is a well-known magazine in the agricultural sector. If you want to reach a maximum number of candidates, you can’t go wrong with Farmers Weekly.
