Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary:  Created in 2000, Jobline belongs to the HVG Centre, which offer branding and recruiting services. The website only receives 337 470 hits a month, but that’s with practically no social media (except for Facebook, on which they have 20 241 followers) and little advertising. The job board is made up of various other tools to help jobseekers find work.

Design: The dominant colour in orange, and the homepage includes all the essential information. A search engine in two parts (keywords and location) is the first time you see upon entering the website. Underneath, a list of categories (with icons) helps filter the job offers. They also offer so “filters” above the search engine (jobs for unemployed people or jobs for students). The homepage also features partners, some blog articles and a few CV templates. Once in the job listing, the essential information about the job offer is visible in the job listing. One of the only things not visible is the publication date (and it is never mentioned). The filters include the category, the location, the linguistics skills, professional experience, education, the type of hours and whether an employer or recruiter (more than 2/3) published the job offer. Every job offer layout is different: some focus on the company, others on the positions and others on the client. The information depends entirely on the company and how they want to attract candidates.

The job board objective: Jobline aims to improve the jobseeker experience. They’ve done all the hard work so that you don’t have to.

Recruiter observations: To create an account, you need a tax number. You purchase advert space without creating an account (the prices are available), but it’s probably best to get in contact with the website before spending any money.

Jobseeker observations: You can create an account with an e-mail address, Facebook account or Linkedin account and you don’t have to fill out any other annoying forms if you don’t want to. For some job offers, you need to include a CV, but otherwise, the application process consists of just the click of a button.

The job offers: An overwhelming number of job offers come from recruiting firms. Manual labour and sales are among the most popular categories. We were impressed to discover that there are no job offers in “other”, which means companies have found the categories they were looking for on the website. There are currently 2 840 job offers on the website.

Reactivity: --

Special features: The icons; downloadable CV templates; salary calculator; recommended job offers; the blog.

Verdict: It’s a bit annoying not having any information about the publication date, but otherwise, the website has a pleasing layout. If your CV could use some touch-ups or you aren’t sure what to expect as a salary, Jobline has the answers!
