Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Available in English and in French, the French niche job board AeroContact has been on top of everything aeronautics since 2003. It’s no wonder too: their website covers job offers, current affairs, new technology, advertising and job sheets. If you are in the aeronautic field, AeroContact has something to interest you. Currently, they have 4 700 followers on Linkedin, 1 4600 on Twitter and a mere 534 on Facebook. According to SimilarWeb, they receive 202 760 visits per month, which is more than their French competition, so let’s have a closer look at what AeroContact can offer you.
Design: The layout is quite attractive on (most) pages. The homepage really manages to advertise everything the company offers, which includes products for the aviation field, a selection of mugshots from their CV database, information about events, airlines, aeronautic recruiting firms, etc. in their directory, information about professions in their job sheets, recruiting and hiring news on their company pages, job offers (by profession, by sector or by location) and current affairs in the aviation world. The company pages are relatively standardized but quite attractive and clear. They can include videos, job offers, news, photos and/or a map, all of which is indicated by icons before even opening their page from the company list (in a grid form). The job offer listing does not offer much in the way of filters (you can filter the type of contract) but it’s simple to use (and the publication date is visible). Each job offer can vary in length but the following details are indicated clearly: the start date, the salary, the publication date, the contract length, a short description, the location, the position and required experience.
The job board objective: If you are in the aviation field, AeroContact was created for you.
Recruiter observations: To create an account, a tax number is necessary. Otherwise, you can order online directly for job offers or CV database access. The branding
Jobseeker observations: To apply to job offers, you must be registered. You can choose to fill out the form manually or upload a CV (which makes it easy to delete what you don’t want to include). They really fix up your CV (which they upload in English or French). You are limited to 5 cover letters, which they help you design by doing the first one for you. You simply click on “apply” to send your application.
The job offers: 233 companies are hiring according to the website. 4 751 job offers in France and 577 job offers in English speaking countries (when you change the language, they change the job offers, so beware!).
Reactivity: Their website is so clear that there really is no need to go through the website for additional information.
Special features: the job sheets (explaining each profession, including tasks, studies, salary and even videos sometimes); the blog (some of the articles are published on “Le Journal de l’Aviation”); graphs about their demographic (gender, sector, age, etc.);
Verdict: Their “about us” section could use some updating, but otherwise, AeroContact is one of those specialist job boards that knows its industry. If you are looking for a job in some way related to aviation, check out AeroContact. You won’t regret it.
