Summary: It’s difficult to find a lot of information about Afri-Emploi online. One thing is sure, Afri-Emploi is a specialist job board for African executives. The social media is not longer active, but it was last year for the 331 followers on Twitter and 69 746 on Facebook. There are also two LinkedIn pages (with 50 and 219 followers), but neither seem to have any employee accounts attached to them. With no https:// security, this job board is not ticking many boxes.
Design: On the yellow and blue homepage, one job is listed in a box next to the search engine (keywords and location). You cannot access the job listing without filling in at least one of the fields. This makes the job search rather tedious and needlessly complicated because each time you choose filters, which lead to empty searches, you have to attempt another filter. Job offers are broken down into three sections: how the company will help you if you have to change countries for the job, the useful information (the experience, the type of contract, the sector, the salary, the studies, etc.) and a description.
The job board objective: Afri Emploi aims to make it easier to find executive workers in Africa or to attract European ones.
Recruiter observations: Recruiters can order their job offers through the site, unless they would like something customized. In that way, it is best to contact the team. You must provide information about the VAT number and company legal details.
Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account and you need one to apply to offers.
The job offers: It’s difficult to estimate how many job offers are posted on the job board.
Special features: The list of partners; the Facebook feed; the articles (with no dates); the key figures PDF.
Verdict: It’s great that Afri-Emploi wants to improve the employment situation in Africa, but the website definitely needs a bit more TLC. We look forward to seeing the filters redesigned and the social media updated.
