AmalJob<\/a> is probably not at the top of the list when it comes to renowned job boards, but that\u2019s not for lack of a professionalism. Did you know it’s actually the second most visited job board in Morocco? Created in 2007, AmalJob is a generalist job boards focused on attracting young new talent in the hopes of filling the CV database with the best and the brightest. The logo \u2013 the full website address with a bull\u2019s eye in the \u201co\u201d \u2013 is a clear indicator that the site is targeting a more educated kind of jobseeker. Well, clearly someone believes in AmalJob\u2019s potential because Novojob<\/a> acquired the company last week.<\/p>\n

AmalJob means professionalism<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"\"The website has a very professional feel to it. You can look up the jobs by region, by sector or by occupation. If you don\u2019t speak French (and the website is only available in French), there are even little icons to help you navigate your way around the site (an eye to view a job offer, a clock for the date, etc.) and the job offers clearly indicate useful information above the job summary (the type of contract available, the publication date, the name of the company, the experience required, etc.). While consulting one offer, you have the possibility of comparing it to similar jobs also available on the website.<\/p>\n

The teams keeps the Facebook page updated with adverts from the job site for the 111 906 (which has actually gone down since August) followers and they upload funny videos to appeal to a younger audience. Testimonials from people who have used the website are also present with conflicting opinions about the efficiency of the website.<\/p>\n

As a whole, the design is pleasing. AmalJob provides a reasonable number of job offers (under 150) which means that you aren\u2019t overwhelmed, and there are no annoying pop-ups. They have a \u201ccompany of the month\u201d section, a \u201ccompanies recruiting right now\u201d section and their website includes a blog with interesting articles about developments in the working world and recruiting advice.<\/p>\n

Just don\u2019t click on all the links<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"\"At a glance, AmalJob has more than enough information and links for everyone, but some of those links lead nowhere. What’s in the partner section? Nothing. What’s in the site plan section? Nothing. Many empty categories for the job offers and faulty links (like the advice link in the footer) are more unpleasant surprises users have to look forward to. Maybe Novojobs will step in to fix these flaws.<\/p>\n

The UX writing<\/a> could be improved too, so that users know exactly where to click. Knowing if you\u2019re a recruiter or jobseeker can be tricky because of a confusing design. There is a button called \u201crecruiter page\u201d, but once your profile has been created, it has a CV and work experience panel, which means you\u2019re in a \u201ccandidate page\u201d. You can create job alerts but I don\u2019t have a lot of faith in their efficiency. To actually sign up as an employer, you need to click on a flashing \u201csubscribe\u201d button and fill in different details about your company before gaining access to package deals and prices.<\/p>\n

Making it in Morocco<\/strong><\/h2>\n

According to AmalJob, the team preselects CVs and make it easier for the employers to sort through candidates. They really are all about scouting for talent, but obviously you need to attract the best and the brightest before you can offer it to recruiters, and that\u2019s probably their biggest obstacle. AmalJob is far behind the competition when it comes to how frequently the website is consulted (ranked 1 966 in Morocco in August and now 2 200 for the most consulted websites in the country): there are about 695 daily visitors compared to 14 500 for Rekrute. That doesn\u2019t mean it is out of the running though.<\/p>\n

One thing is for sure, they make a point of stating legal information about confidentiality, disclaimers and different regulations regarding the information shared on their job board, so you are probably less likely to come across dishonest resumes and fake job offers. This is a plus for the region, because other job boards like Maroc Emploi<\/a> are quite as transparent.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, the website has potential but Novojob has their work cut out for them too. We\u2019ll be keeping an eye on this one to see the improvements Novojob can bring to the table.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
