On Friday, we were lucky enough to chat with the co-founder of Proven<\/a>, Pablo Fuentes. Other than discussing his\u00a0highly popular US job board which was launched in 2009 to help small businesses with hiring products, we also talked about the challenges they face in the job board market and the future plans and projects.<\/h4>\n

Can you tell us more about your website and its current positioning on the job board market?<\/h3>\n

We work with small business customers to help them distribute their jobs to over 100 job boards. We also have our own job board, but our primary business is acting as a distribution engine<\/strong> for customers who want to maximize good applicants<\/strong> while organizing them all in one place.<\/p>\n

How would you describe your company culture and core values?<\/h3>\n

We became a fully-remote company in May of 2016. We have a culture that is very results-driven<\/strong>, and we want to encourage our employees to manage their own time and to lead fulfilled lives wherever they choose to work from. We value independence, honesty, accountability, and fun<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Why did you decide to launch a job board for small business hiring?<\/h3>\n

The business went through a lot of iterations to get to where it is today.<\/a> The original idea was to help people get jobs through text messages in 2009. The business has changed, but the guiding principle of the company has always been to build simple hiring products<\/strong> for people who have been traditionally overlooked by human resources technology<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Has your company found its place in the USA recruitment market?<\/h3>\n

Yes! We are a leading small business hiring tool trusted by over 1,000 customers. We are growing fast<\/strong>, and our blog is becoming a prominent source of high-quality content<\/strong> in the human resources space.<\/p>\n

What are some of your greatest innovations since the company was founded?<\/h3>\n

Mobile has always been our strong suit. We have the best native hiring apps<\/strong> in both the Apple and Google app stores. We are also the only app that allows you to post jobs to multiple job boards directly from your phone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What can you say about the current traffic on your website? What countries coming from any other countries?<\/h3>\n

Our organic traffic has grown 889% since January of 2016<\/strong>. 88% of our traffic comes from the U.S.<\/strong>, which makes sense, as that is where all of our customers are based.<\/p>\n

Can you describe your target audience \u2013 job seekers and recruiters?<\/h3>\n

Our target audience are small business owners and managers, generally those with under 100 employees. We have some larger groups that have smaller locations that hire independently<\/strong> as well.<\/p>\n

What are some of the major challenges your company will have to face in the coming years? How do you see the future of the market and your company?<\/h3>\n

The market is evolving rapidly<\/strong>, as are most technology markets. There has been a recent wave of consolidations<\/strong>, but I predict that in the next five years, some ideas that have failed in the past may hit the right timing Apex. Video interviewing<\/strong> comes to mind.<\/p>\n

Also, the future of the industry is mobile<\/strong>. People have been saying that for years, but I think very few small businesses will be hiring through a desktop computer in ten years.<\/p>\n

What are the next steps and projects for your site?<\/h3>\n

We are continuing to refine the product<\/strong>, adding functionality while also maintaining simplicity<\/strong>. The hard part about building a great product is which nine of 10 good ideas NOT to do.<\/p>\n

Additionally, we are seeing exponential growth in organic traffic<\/strong> as a result of our content marketing initiatives<\/strong>. We want to stay on that growth curve.<\/p>\n

Pablo Fuentes is a first generation immigrant to the U.S. He is committed to helping small businesses hire and people find jobs, especially through their mobile phones. He is also passionate about helping minorities and women start technology companies. Pablo was honoured as a Champion of Change and has been invited to speak at the White House<\/a> about Proven and mentoring. Pablo enjoys Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, making cigar box guitars, playing the blues, reading, and dogs. Pablo obtained a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.<\/p>\n
