The deal is the biggest ever for Microsoft and one of the largest for the tech industry. LinkedIn\u2019s CEO Jeff Weiner will remain in his current role and report to Microsoft\u2019s Nadella. Weiner and LinkedIn\u2019s billionaire cofounder Hoffman, who is the company\u2019s controlling shareholder, stated that they are both in favor of the acquisition.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jobboardfinder.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/linkedin-microsoft-graphs-100665888-orig.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"linkedin-microsoft-graphs-100665888-orig\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jobboardfinder.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/linkedin-microsoft-graphs-100665888-orig_thumb.png\" alt=\"linkedin-microsoft-graphs-100665888-orig\" width=\"558\" height=\"304\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Why did Microsoft buy LinkedIN?<\/h3>\n<p>There are many reasons for this acquisition, but the most important one is that Microsoft wants to use LinkedIn as a database of professional information and distribution channel for its software systems. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jobboardfinder.com\/news\/4-strategies-to-land-your-dreamjob-using-linkedin\/\">LinkedIn<\/a> will gain additional financing and access to millions of people who could potentially join its network.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Corp. will also seek to boost LinkedIn\u2019s profits through targeted advertising and more individual and organization subscriptions. The companies hope to merge Microsoft&#8217;s Office 365 and other business products with LinkedIn&#8217;s professional social network.<\/p>\n<p>The transaction has been unanimously approved by both boards of directors and is expected to close before the end of the year. Microsoft is constantly expanding the portfolio of their valuable properties and it could be expected that they evolve into offering a talent management system as this is what they\u2019ve hinted at with the announcement.<\/p>\n<p>Given that LinkedIn and Microsoft are well known and are already leaders in their respective markets, over time Microsoft could become a dominant player in HR Technology.
