Recruit Ireland Presentation

Site's statement

Part of one of Ireland’s largest media groups Landmark Media Investments, RecruitIreland.com was established in 1999 to provide a digital solution for the Irish recruitment market. It is now recognised as one of the most innovative client and candidate driven job sites in Ireland.

The website provides a cutting-edge service that brings together the best companies with candidates of the highest calibre.

Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: Created in 1999, Recruit Ireland is a generalist job board for Ireland, which attracts 61 740 visits a month. Of those visits, 25% come from outside of Ireland. The numbers might not be as high as they are for other job sites in the UK, but at least you know this one is targeting the Irish. On social media, there are 47 952 followers on Facebook, 21 200 on Twitter, 4 234 on LinkedIn and 23 on YouTube.

Design: On the homepage, Recruit Ireland has opted for a search engine (keywords and location) over a backdrop image of people waiting for an interview. You must include a keyword to use the search engine. Be careful: if you look for jobs nationwide, you’ll only see the ones advertised for the entire country and not all of the job offers. Most of the featured companies aren’t actually recruiting right now, but you can also start looking for work by clicking on a featured vacancy. In the listing, the ‘hot’ jobs are above the others in orange, whereas the others are in blue. There is a publication date but no logo. If you want to refine your search, you’ll have to conduct an advanced search (category, location, employment type, publication date, detailed/brief description). Recruit Ireland has a company listing, which displays the companies in alphabetical order in a grid of logos. The pages consist of a logo, description and current job offers. Most also include a link to the company website.

The job board objective:  As the site states, Recruit Ireland hopes to provide jobseekers with a comprehensive database of quality jobs and employers with a cost effective, efficient way to recruit quality candidates.

Recruiter observations: Recruiters don’t need to create an account to order online.

Jobseeker observations: To register, jobseekers must include their country, current job title and sector, whether they are willing to relate and whether recruiters can access their CV or data.

The job offers: There are over 500 job offers on the site. The categories with the most offers are science/pharma/food, engineering, graduate, accounting and hotel/catering/travel.

Reactivity: --

Special features: The CV visibility options; the YouTube videos; the blog (in different sections; nothing new since last year); the CV templates.

Verdict: Recruit Ireland is easy to use and focuses on Ireland. It doesn’t excel in branding, but if that isn’t very important for your campaign, then it shouldn’t be an issue.
