Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: New to the playing field, Jobhiring is a REDEFINE CREATION INC. generalist job board. Since it was only created in 2017, it isn’t that surprising to discover that it has a very low visibility (32 890th for its activity in the Philippines) but they have gone from 83 adverts in June to 679 in September, which isn’t bad. For now, they only have 29 followers on Twitter and 666 on Facebook.

Design: The logo is the outline of a green “J”. There is a search engine which uses keywords and some jobs are featured below it. Each job offer includes the job title (featured), the company, the logo, when it was posted, the pay, the deadline and the type of hours. The oldest job offers are a month old. The filters (keywords, location, job level, job type, the publication date) are above the job offers, which can be sorted in “ascending” or “descending” order (whatever that means). The job offers include a description and other qualifications. There are no privacy terms, even though they give out people’s addresses, numbers and e-mail addresses. They also do not distinguish between a recruiter and jobseeker account using the same e-mail address. “Partners” are listed at the bottom of the homepage, but they are search engines. On the blog, some of their pop-ups are particularly disturbing: gross food images and call girl adverts mostly.

The job board objective: By making it easier for companies to advertise and to access information about jobseekers, Jobhiring encourages more exchanges between recruiters and jobseekers.

Recruiter observations:  It’s easy to create an account, but an image is required. It is free to advertise but you need to wait 2 business days for them to review your job offer. You can access the CV-database too but fees apply to gain access to contact information and photos. All you can see is the education and desired job. Some profiles include the full address of the candidate.

Jobseeker observations: The dashboard is very basic. To apply to jobs, you just send the company your details (even if you have only included a name, number, location and e-mail address). If you would like to refer a friend, you simply send the website your friend’s phone number, e-mail address and full name, so that the company can contact them. According to the website, referring a friend is useful for people with no internet access in the provinces.

The job offers: There are 679 jobs offers on their website. There is a wide range of jobs.

Reactivity: It took them over a week to answer us.

Special features: the ATS; the resume builder; the PayCheck calculator (based on people’s contributions).

Verdict: The website is only just getting started. It is unsettling to know they give out private contact information without asking for permission, but free publicity never hurt anybody.
