Emploi ma Presentation

Site's statement

Created in 2012, Emploi.ma is one of the leading job and recruitment websites in Morocco. The website aims to connect - directly online through the platform - candidates looking for a job and companies from all sectors of activity wishing to recruit employees.

The registration to the website is free and allows access to all functions of the platform via a personal space: targeted search for job offers or profiles, publication of ads 24/7 email alerts, tracking real-time applications and other features. The website is free for candidates.

Companies have the possibility to submit 3 free job offers per month. Beyond this number, companies can subscribe to one of our advertising packs. Rates for services and products are available online. A customer service is available to propose solutions adapted to the needs of the recruiters. The website offers businesses the opportunity to post job ads online and to search for profiles on the CV database.

Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: Before operating all over Africa, Africawork started its job board in Morocco and later became employ.ma. They currently have a little over 1 100 job offers on their website. For those that travel around Africa, the recognizable Africawork brand is recognizable on all their sub-websites: the “A” logo and the same page layout. For more information on the mother job board, see the Africawork review. As for the social media, there are 262 875 followers on Facebook, 1 833 on Twitter (just a list of job offers) and 13 937 members in a LinkedIn group.

Design: The turquoise and orange boarders are quite calming. As you scroll down, employ.ma carefully separates its different sections: the jobseeker search engine, the featured companies, the featured jobs, the CV database and the various African countries that work with Africawork (the flags really stand out on the black backdrop). Everything is very clear.

The job board objective: This particular job board is all about simplicity: putting jobseekers in contact with the right companies with as little intrusion as possible from the middleman.

Recruiter observations: The prices are clearly stated on their website and you can even purchase CVs rather than putting an advert on the website (but it will cost you around US $490 for 10 random CVs). The nice thing is you can create your advert and see what it will look like before spending any money. There are a number of sections to fill out but you have a lot of freedom when it comes to what you actually want to see about the position and the ideal candidate.

Jobseeker observations: When you search for a job, the boxes you tick in one category (say, your level of studies or the region you live in) affect the ones you can or cannot tick in other categories. This makes it much easier to see what you should be looking out for and what is actually available. Also, it’s important to mention that employ.ma does give you the option of keeping your CV private (and not including it in the CV database). Personally, I find a lot of the job offers too long though.

The job offers: As the level of studies go up, so do the job offers on this website. There are 10 times more job offers for those with 5 years of university study behind them than for those who didn’t make it to the end of high school exam (baccalauréat).

Reactivity: It’s easy to create an account. Since the prices are available on the website, you don’t really need to contact them, but a contact number and e-mail address are available.

Special features: The sample CVs on the homepage to motivate recruiters (rather than candidates) sign up; the CV pack option; the over dramatic smiley faces when you’re denied access to a part of the website; personalized job alerts; job offers compared on one page; CV visibility options.

Verdict: Personally, it bothers me that the website claims to have been created in 2002 when that just isn’t true. However, that doesn’t change the fact that – as far as job boards are concerned – this one has everything it needs to attract both jobseekers and recruiters from all over Morocco. If you want to get your company out there quickly and efficiently, employ.ma is a good place to start.
